The town guards are in constant conflict with waves of Fogmen patrols attempting to breach the gates and carry off prisoners (potentially including the player). Beep, Crumblejon, Infinite Wingwang, and Shryke are Unique Recruits found in Mongrel, either in one of the bars or wandering the town. The town itself has good variety of shops, many having goods not available in The Holy Nation. Purchasing a Map to Mongrel prior to journey can help to stay on the right path. Base building here is difficult due to Empire Taxes and lack of water, but the threats in the area arent too unmanageable, the big bugs should be your biggest threats other then the occasional pleb hunting noble. The Right Green Marker is a good starting zone. However, once you reach the town you will be protected by many powerful gate guards. The Green Area Markers are areas that arent too terrible. Players may lose characters to the Fogmen on the journey if not careful. Due to its location, it can be extremely dangerous to attempt to reach it. Mongrel, the sole town of the Mongrel faction, is located in the middle of the Fog Islands. These are places which do not have competent inhabitants. There are no Major Towns or Minor Outposts in Shun. Aside from scavenging, there is not much to do in Shun. There are many ruins and lost ancient locations. If you're lucky enough to make it to Mongrel, you're stuck in Mongrel. Shun is an abandoned region at the southwestern corner of Kenshi. People don't make a habit of visiting here. ![]()
